J-League

Pickings were fairly slim in the upper echelons of the J-League this week, where none of the top five managed a score in excess of 60 points.

Having had to share top spot with two other managers last week, Christy O’Neill’s The Klopp End claimed the lead outright once again after a solid 57 points in Gameweek 9.

There is now 12 points to spare between Christy and William Byrne’s Under Dogs in second place, with Evan O’Sullivan’s Dutch Gold Gatletic four points further adrift in third place.

Christopher Dooley’s The Jolley Ollocks are well in the mix a further three points back in fourth spot, with Edward Reidy’s FC Reidinho anchoring the top five.

Gameweek 10

The meeting of Champions League sides Spurs and Leicester is the game that most catches the eye in Gameweek 10, although Leicester’s domestic form has been a far cry from what they’ve produced in the world’s premier club competition so far.

Liverpool have had difficulties away to Crystal Palace in the recent past but will fancy themselves in current form, while the prospects of Arsenal drawing a blank for the second game in a row are drastically reduced by the fact that they’re playing Sunderland.

during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Sunderland at Olympic Stadium on October 22, 2016 in London, England.

Burnley will seek to extend Manchester United’s current run of miserable league form at Old Trafford and West Brom will seek to do likewise against Manchester City, while Everton, West Ham, Chelsea and Southampton are all in action in what is a decent-looking double header on Sunday.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Eden Hazard (£9.8 million). The Belgian’s season seemed to have stalled somewhat after a decent start, but he’s sparked into life in the last two games, with two goals and 16 points.

during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on October 23, 2016 in London, England.

Dark horse: Nacer Chadli (£6.6 million). West Brom aren’t known for being prolific, but Chadli, an excellent recruit from Spurs, has scored half of his side’s eight goals in their last five games, racking up 44 points in the process.

during the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur at The Hawthorns on October 15, 2016 in West Bromwich, England.

Captain’s choice: Philippe Coutinho (£8.4 million). The Brazilian has a habit of putting up big scores in games before going on a bit of a drought, but as the form player in the form team in the league, he gets our vote this week.
