The three players you need in your Fantasy Football team this week

Diego, woah-oh-oh.

J-League

Not surprisingly, it was not a good week at the top of the J-League, with a rather mediocre 46 points representing the highest score amongst the teams in the top five.

Christy O’Neill will hardly care all that much, however, as his charges, The Klopp End, remain in first place with 15 points to spare over Christopher Dooley’s The Jolly Ollocks in second.

Jack’s Giants, managed by Kevin Maher, have moved up to joint-second after registering the best score of the top five this week, with Paul Stirrat’s Fer Fuchs Ake and Liam Dugdale’s Game of Throw’Ins making up the rest.

Gameweek 13

The London derby between an in-form Chelsea and an out-of-form Spurs is the highlight of this weekend’s programme.

With six wins on the bounce, no league goal conceded in two months (something we’re sure hasn’t gone unnoticed by Fantasy Football managers) and home advantage, Antonio Conté’s side will be favourites.

If the Burnley defence are in as generous a mood against Manchester City as they were against West Brom, then Pep Guardiola’s side could run riot in the early kick-off on Saturday; for anyone willing to take a punt on Yaya Toure after his two-goal salvo last week, he’s available for £7.6 million.

Liverpool have the chance to bounce back from an uncharacteristic blank against Southampton when hosting struggling Sunderland at Anfield, while West Ham’s visit to Old Trafford, where the hosts could really do with three points, is probably the pick of Sunday’s fixtures.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Philippe Coutinho (£8.7 million). They drew a blank against Southampton last time out, but we’re not going to lose faith in Liverpool’s ability to score freely just yet, especially not when they’re playing an admittedly improving Sunderland at Anfield.

As always, their little Brazilian is likely to be at the heart of things at the attacking end of the pitch.

Dark horse: Juan Mata (£7.4 million). Manchester United aren’t scoring many goals at present, but they are creating a lot of chances and you would imagine their fortunes will turn around at some stage.

Juan Mata came in for praise from Jamie Carragher this week and though it seemed unlikely following Jose Mourinho’s appointment, he’s become a key figure in his side and looks the most likely to score or create the goals that should soon arrive.

during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford on November 19, 2016 in Manchester, England.

Captain’s choice: Diego Costa (£10.6 million). He was scoring goals during Chelsea’s poor run earlier in the season and he’s still scoring now that they’ve completely turned things around.

10 goals in 12 games, three assists and averaging just over one bonus point per game (13 in 12 games), he’s the most potent striker in the league at the moment.
