If anyone can stop Chelsea, Sergio can.

Long-term leader Christy O’Neill just about held onto top spot after a poor return of just 39 points for The Klopp End in Gameweek 13, with his lead cut to just two points as a result.

Declan Rynne’s Sweeper System? have come from nowhere to lead the charge in second, as have Shaun Bellamy’s Wengerboys, five points further back in third place.

A solid 71 points was enough to propel Derek Dickinson’s 2 girls 1 Schlupp into fourth place, while Paul Stirrat’s Fer Fuchs Ake just about hung onto their top five status after a week of much change in the J-League.

Gameweek 14

Saturday kicks off with a real cracker as Chelsea look to extend their winning run to eight league games when visiting a Manchester City side perched just one point behind them in the table.

Guardiola v Conte was one of the heavyweight managerial clashes football fans were looking forward to after a summer of high-profile managerial recruitments, but despite the likely even nature of the contest, it’s not necessarily one to shy away from for Fantasy Football managers.

How could you when the leading scorer in every position (Courtois, Cahill, Hazard and Costa) will be on one side and that man Sergio Aguero (now on 10 goals for the season) will be on the other?

during the Premier League match between Southampton and Chelsea at St Mary's Stadium on October 30, 2016 in Southampton, England.

Hold on to your hats.

Elsewhere, the Super Sunday clash between Everton and Manchester United is probably the cause for most excitement from the weekend fixture list, although the late Saturday kick-off between West Ham and Arsenal at the Olympic Stadium should be a pretty interesting affair too.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Alexis Sanchez (£11.3 million). If we’re guilty of returning to the same players time and time again, it’s because they continue to justify our faith in them.

Alexis Sanchez may have one leg hanging off him, but his double against Bournemouth took him to eight league goals for the season and he has 30 points from the last four games alone.

during the Premier League match between Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium on November 27, 2016 in London, England.

Dark horse: Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.3 million). A man who’s been a dream for Fantasy Football managers for years can’t exactly be labelled a ‘dark horse,’ but his ability to contribute individually when his team is struggling shouldn’t be underestimated.

Despite Swansea’s lowly position, he’s in the top ten highest scoring midfielders this season and has returned 29 points in his last four outings thanks to two goals and three assists.

during the Premier League match between Swansea City and Crystal Palace at Liberty Stadium on November 26, 2016 in Swansea, Wales.

Captain’s choice: Sergio Aguero (£13.1 million). Chelsea’s run has to come to an end sometime and if any man is going to be responsible for it, it’s this man.

Had a habit of following up braces with brief goal droughts earlier in the season, but is close to his peak at the moment with five goals, an assist and 36 points in four games.
