There is more than just the match to look forward to at the Aviva Stadium on Good Friday

Colm Boohig

In case you needed reminding.

Ireland’s friendly with Switzerland on Friday night at the Aviva Stadium will be a crucial warm up for Euro 2016, but there is also something else vital about the encounter.

It may be Good Friday, which of course means a national pub shut down, but as the friendly is not governed by UEFA, the Aviva bar will be serving alcohol from 5.30pm.

We sure hope somebody has told the travelling Swiss fans not to expect an all night session though, as the fun will start and end at the national stadium.

The match will be the first of two friendlies in the space of four days for Ireland, with Martin O’Neill’s side set face Slovakia on Tuesday (March 29).
