The amount of talent to choose from here is ridiculous.
For the last couple of months, we’ve been asking readers to select the greatest club football and hurling teams of all-time, going through every line of the pitch on both teams in an effort to settle on a final XV.
We can safely say that nowhere is the selection more difficult on either side than in the hurling half-forward line.
Amongst the nominees below is the current Hurler of the Year (TJ Reid), a man widely regarded as the best of all-time (Henry Shefflin), a man arguably revered more than any other sportsperson in Cork (Jimmy Barry-Murphy) and three of the greatest Joes (Connolly, Cooney and Rabbitte) ever to put on a Galway jersey.
And that’s not all. Far from it in fact.
Whoever ends up joining these three in the full-forward line will be worthy of their spot but we don’t envy you having to choose from the nominees below.
