Will Daniel Sturridge ever be seen in a Liverpool jersey again?
One of the best finishers in the Premier League has not played since he injured a hamstring on 6 December, and has only started 10 top flight games since the start of last season.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp says Sturridge remains at least ten days away from a return to first team action – a situation that will probably remain in place for the rest of his career on Merseyside, at this rate.
“Out of responsibility, we have to do everything we can to give him the physical strength to be able to play Premier League football,” Klopp said.
“To have a player like Daniel in your squad is always a good situation. When it’s not possible to use him, it’s not a good situation.
“We have enough games this season when we hopefully can use him, but not, if nothing happens, for at least the next 10 days.”
