This GAA club in Tipperary is offering a J1 job and accommodation as the prize for a draw

Day-um (we spelt ‘damn’ wrong for dramatic effect), we would love to win this…

Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA club in Cloughjordan, North Tipperary are giving away a very unique prize for their annual fundraiser this year. They are giving away the prize of a J1 job in New York for you and a friend and to top it all off; they will pay for a month of your accommodation.

If you enter their €10 draw, you will be in with a chance to win return flights to New York, a job in Spillane Group Bar in New York, one month’s accommodation paid for and the second and third months’ accommodation organised for you.

Wow, we are pretty sure this is the dream of every student in this country. Three months of a J1 organised before you even leave and the idea that you can earn up to €10,000 for your three months’ work and still have time to go for a gander around the rest of the country afterward? Sound!

You do, unfortunately, still have to organise your own visa for the duration so if you stole some sweeties from the corner shop when you were a young lad, you could be setting yourself up for disappointment. Fair warning given…

We think this is an ingenious prize to be giving away. It will attract interest from around the country because students tend to live day to day and have very little cash (believe us, we know all about it), unless they have one of the mythical weekend jobs that are floating around. The promise of riches for just €10 will be far too much for some of them to resist.

Hell, who are we kidding; we’ve already entered 17 times. JOE is going to New York b*tches!
