Waterford man Thomas Barr found an extra gear in the final few seconds of Thursday evening's 400-metre hurdle at the European Championships.
The Irishman began the race on the outside track but looked ready for battle from the off, and in the end he simply couldn't be caught by his nearest rival.
In the end, the gold went to Karsten Warholm from Norway, and the silver was taken by Turkey's Yemeni Copello. But Barr has done Ireland proud, taking home the major medal that he deserves.
It's a huge moment for the 26-year-old, who finished fourth at the Olympics in 2016. You can watch the nail-biting finish here below:
