Let’s just say he hasn’t sat on the fence.
Tony McGregor has kept his name in the spotlight ever since his now legendary “coinage” rant.
We know you’ve already seen it, but we’ll provide you with a link to the clip just in case you want to watch it again…
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we can talk about the Notorious Senior’s most recent bold statement.
On Monday evening he appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Podcast to discuss his son’s upcoming fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
Helwani asked him for his prediction, and he did not sit on the fence…
Speaking about the fight, McGregor said: “Conor is gonna box him back to the amateur ranks, where he belongs. I don’t know how he got to this stage to be fighting Conor. What has happened?”
Helwani chuckles and replies: “This is incredible.”
McGregor doesn’t stop there…
He goes on to say that the fight will end early, saying: “Absolutely and unequivocally, first-round knockout. Honestly. I’ve looked at it every which way. It’ gonna be a first-round knockout. Khabib cannot stand that power. He’s too slow, he won’t be able to dodge Conor’s power.
“The precision that Conor has? The kicks? It’s a first-round finish for me.”
Have a look for yourself here:
“Conor is going to box him back to the amateur ranks where he belongs. … Absolutely, and unequivocally, first-round knockout.”
A spirited Tony McGregor has spoken, and he appears to be more confident than ever in his son Conor.

Well. That’s a lot more one-sided than the rest of the world seem to think it will be.
Maybe he should take that coinage to the bookies and throw a bet on.
