TWEETS: Something called a Ladyball is creating an awful lot of debate in Ireland today

Conor Heneghan

“Hey ladies – why should the boys have all the fun?”

If you’ve been perusing Twitter or Facebook today, chances are you’ve stumbled upon a mention of something called a Ladyball at some point.

Endorsed by former Dublin footballer Ger Brennan, it’s described as a ball that’s “specially designed for a lady’s game – soft-touch for a woman’s grip, eazi-play for a woman’s ability and fashion-driven for a woman’s style”.

Check out the promo video below.

The YouTube blurb also includes a couple of slogans that are being used to launch the product, such as “It’s a revolution in evolution”, “The all-new Ladyball, play like the lady you are,” and “Hey ladies – why should the boys have all the fun? We can play ball too…Introducing the all-new Ladyball”.

As well as the YouTube promo and website, the Ladyball Twitter account has been very active on social media today.

To say that the response has been mixed would be something of an understatement, with many even suggesting that it can’t possibly be real.
