We never thought we’d see the day that people would pine for Michael Owen.
Owen was given the day off as his two former teams squared up against each other, so it was left to Robbie Savage to take on co-commentating duties for Newcastle v Liverpool.
Granted, the first half was utterly abject, but not quite as bad as Savage’s commentary.
Why is it that whenever I read or hear something by Robbie Savage, I instinctively adopt the opposite view?

Robbie Savage as co-commentator – things that make you pine for Michael Owen. Well, almost @btsportfootball

God Robbie savage is awful, actually complaining that he’s bored watching the match

I’ve learnt a lot from listening to Robbie Savage over the years. Alas, they all apply to hair products and I’m bald.

Robbie Savage talking about Mehdi Abeid as if he’s a 16 year-old getting his 1st ever cap. He was one of Panathinaikos’ main men last year!

Robbie Savage? Really BT Sport, what did we do to deserve this?!
