Twitter reacts as France beat Ireland in the Six Nations

Carl Kinsella

A hard-fought clash by all accounts.

Ireland’s boys were battered black and Les Bleus by the French throughout the second game of this year’s Six Nations campaign with Dave Kearney, Sean O’Brien and Mike McCarthy all forced to leave the field early through injury.

Ireland largely dominated the first half without turning that control into a commanding lead, and were forced to defend like Trojans as the French attacked relentlessly for periods of the second-half.

A lot of the tweets aimed at the Irish team urged the hold off France, but it proved to be impossible when Medard went over the line for a try ten minutes from time, which was converted by Plisson to make the score 10-9 to France.

The consensus on Twitter was that while Ireland weren’t great, the refereeing of Jaco Peyper was abysmal.
