Some decent strikers almost rocked up at Old Trafford this past summer.

Manchester United fans must be happy with their brilliant new signing Anthony Martial, but the French teenager could have been joined by a couple of handy Brazilians. Barcelona superstar Neymar has admitted to holding talks with Louis Van Gaal during the transfer window. The Brazil captain told ESPN:  'We (United) had conversations, but there was nothing concrete. 'I heard that there were offers but none were made to me.' https://youtu.be/eWgMMBFvros Clip via MNcompsJR The one-time Brazilian prodigy Alexandre Pato has also revealed that he was approached by United on Deadline Day. "I won't lie, two hours before closing [the transfer window] I had a very nice offer from Manchester United", the striker told ESPN. Pato ended up staying with Sao Paulo so it will be interesting to see if Van Gaal returns with another offer in the future.
