The USRC want to know people’s thoughts…

The Ulster Rugby Supporters Club (USRC) have asked fans to consider five different responses to the IRFU and Ulster Rugby’s decision to revoked the contracts of Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding.

The survey comes following the IRFU and Ulster Rugby’s decision to revoke the contracts of the duo on Saturday following a review into their conduct.

The pair released statements revealing their deep disappointment at the decision.

According to the Irish Independent, the survey contained the following five options for members of the supporters club to give their opinion on the decision.

  • Pleased they are gone, they have brought disgrace to Ulster Rugby. See you on Saturday;
  • Move on, we are a Supporters’ Club and we support the club not individual players. See you on Saturday;
  • Disappointed, but not surprised by the outcome. URSC to write to IRFU/Ulster expressing same;
  • Appalled at the outcome – protest at the Glasgow game. See you outside on Saturday;
  • Appalled at the outcome. Boycott Glasgow game. Won’t see you on Saturday.

On Monday, French club Clermont denied that they were keen on signing Jackson on a deal to bring him to the south of France.

Clermont head coach Franck Azéma dismissed reports that they were in preliminary negotiations with Jackson as “false information.”

“There is no contact between Paddy Jackson and the club and no desire on our part to engage his services.”

Ulster Rugby CEO Shane Logan also said on Monday that he doesn’t think the pair will will play for Ulster or Ireland again but denied that sponsorship pressure had any impact on the decision to revoke the duo’s contracts.
