A step in the right direction, or an unwelcome change?

Video Assistant Referees will be used in next year's Premier League season. The 2019/2020 Premier League season will see the introduction of VAR, following its success around the world. VAR is already used in La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Premeira Liga and was used in the World Cup which took place in the summer of this year. According to the BBC, the Premier League has been carrying out trials, and clubs were given an update at a meeting on Thursday. Despite the occasional controversy in the World Cup, it was generally perceived as a successful addition to the game. If only we had the technology in use during a certain match in Paris way back in 2009. Nope, we're still not over it... The Premier League has also agreed to continue with the shorter transfer period.
