Video: 95-year old man breaks world record by running 200metres in under a minute

Quick feet for an old man

Conor Heneghan

Jesus, this lad can move.

If you needed motivation to do a bit of exercise or hit the gym today, then the tale of Charles Eugster should provide all the motivation you need.

People have a tendency to blame age as a reason for not exercising, but Eugster is not only exercising at the ripe old age of 95, he’s breaking world records too.

Eugster recently attempted to break the Masters World Record for the fastest 200 metres run by an athlete aged 95 or older and he didn’t just break it, he smashed it.

Charles ran the distance in 55.48 seconds, 2.4 seconds faster than the previous record, which was set by American Orville Rogers in 2013.

Eugster proudly tweeted his achievement and deservedly received plenty of kudos afterwards.

If his exploits don’t give you the kick up the arse you need to get up off your arse we don’t know what will.

What a man.
