Nearly every weekend, on soccer pitches up and down the country, there are goals scored that would be worthy of the Premier League but more often than not, there aren’t cameras present to capture footage of said spectacular efforts.

Fortunately, there was a camera present at Trim Celtic’s victory over St. Peter’s of Athlone at the weekend and it was on hand to record a brilliant effort from Aaron Ryan (we’re reliably informed he’s otherwise known as ‘The Bull’) that proved crucial in a 5-3 victory for a club that were named as FAI Club of the Year in 2014.

Having shown a lovely touch on the right-wing to control a cross-field pass from Derek Donohue, Ryan cut inside on his left foot and fired a beauty into the far top corner to give Trim a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish before the finish.

While Ryan’s goal was celebrated enthusiastically by the Trim contingent, it wasn’t greeted as well by St. Peter’s, as is evident by lines such as “What the f**k are you stopping for?” and “Try to f**king get one back” roared angrily by an unidentified spectator before and after the goal.

Great name, great goal and a great (albeit a bit NSFW) reaction from the opposition sideline; what more could you want from the FAI Junior Cup?
