Video: A tremendous tribute song to the one and only Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins
We don’t think we’ve ever come across a more entertaining rugby player than Nick Cummins and this is a fitting tribute to the man known as the ‘Honey Badger’.
Australian rugby players aren’t always the easiest to like, but like wouldn’t even do justice to our feelings about Western Force and Australia winger Nick Cummins, a fine rugby player but also a linguist of the highest eloquence, particularly with words familiar to folks in his own part of the world.
It was about that time that somebody penned a tribute song in the Honey Badger’s honour and YouTube user Denis Carnahan has done just that, highlighting some of his greatest phrases – ‘sweating like a gypsy with a mortgage’ ‘head over biscuit’ etc. – as well as some of his best on-field moments, all to the tune of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’.
From our perspective, it would have been even better if it had also referenced his brilliant Twitter exchange with Brian O’Driscoll recently, but even without it, it’s still great.
