Video: All the highlights from the All Blacks’ comprehensive defeat of Australia this morning
Another day, another emphatic victory for the All-Blacks…
Despite having a new coach on board – one-time Ireland target Ewen McKenzie – and playing in front of their own crowd in Sydney, Australia failed to recover from their Lions hangover and were comprehensively beaten by a Dan Carter-less New Zealand outfit.
The All-Blacks claimed victory on a scoreline of 47-29 but if anything that flattered Australia, who managed two tries to New Zealand’s six and were generally outclassed all over the field.
The Wallabies could take some consolation from the fact that they scored the try of the night thanks to Will Genia running nearly the entire length of the pitch before touching down underneath the posts.
But with Ben Smith scoring a hat-trick of tries, Conrad Smith and Aaron Cruden adding two more and Richie McCaw scoring on his comeback to the national side, this game was one to remember for the All-Blacks and one to forget for the Wallabies.
We, and every other team unfortunate to have come up against the All-Blacks in recent times for that matter, know how they feel.
