“So, it’s like field hockey, except they beat the crap out of each other?”
The lads over at Facts. decided to show this group of American tourists a game of hurling to gauge their reactions on what is officially the world’s fastest field sport.
Some of them compare hurling to a hybrid of hockey, baseball and football, but safe to say all of them were fairly confused at what was going on in general. At least they didn’t summarise it like Jason Statham did in Blitz.
Thankfully, the Americans’ brief exposure to the sport didn’t put them off our national game and one of the lads even says he’d give hurling a go… just not with a bunch of Irish lads. We don’t blame him.
