Video: Brian O’Driscoll analyses one of his greatest-ever tries as a guest host on Rugby HQ

Ah, that takes us back

Conor Heneghan

Modest to a fault.

Even though he’s still in the early stages of his broadcasting career, it’s already clear to see that Brian O’Driscoll is quickly getting the hang of this TV lark.

Yesterday, he played the role of guest host on Rugby HQ alongside friend of the site Sean Maloney in a special edition of The Wraparound from the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.

BOD and Aussie legend George Gregan gave their take on some of the highlights of the past week – including Jamie Heaslip’s crucial try-saving tackle against Scotland – and at the end, Sean got Brian to analyse one of Rugby HQ’s favourite ever tries, his effort against Wasps in the Heineken Cup in 2008.

O’Driscoll modestly acknowledged that he may have been carrying a little bit of extra timber at the time and pointed out that Jeremy Staunton’s defending was a long way from textbook.

He seemed to get a kick out of it all the same and we got a kick out of watching it all over again.

Hat-tip to the great Sean Maloney for sending this one our way
