This has given us goosebumps - unseen footage, from the RTÉ archives, of the madness that followed Ireland's penalty shoot-out win over Romania in the last 16 of the 1990 World Cup. O'Connell Street in Dublin was absolutely hopping and even the Gardaí couldn't keep the smiles off their faces. This really was the golden age of Irish international soccer, with Ireland claiming a quarter-final place against hosts Italy.
