Having gone up against a cheetah in the past, Bryan Habana didn’t shy away from the challenge of taking on the new British Airways Airbus 380 in a race recently. Here’s how it went down.
The concept of athletes and sports stars having their physical capabilities tested in hypothetical scenarios is a relatively recent one – Habana v Cheetah, Ronaldo v Bugatti Veyron – and while they provide no meaningful information whatsoever, they are entertaining enough all the same.
In the latest effort, Springbok speedster Bryan Habana pitted himself against the new British Airways Airbus A380 over a relatively short distance, with compatriot Jean de Villiers and England captain Chris Robshaw on hand to provide support.
You can see how the race went down in the video, produced by video production company Social Films, at the top of the page, but Habana would certainly have been hoping for a far different outcome than when he came up against the fleet-footed Takudzwa Ngwenya during the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
