This guy has nerves of steel…

In the last minute of the NRL clash between the North Queensland Cowboys and the Cronulla Sharks, the Sharks were a point down, stranded near halfway and the game seemed to be over.

But nobody told Sharks stand-off Daniel Holdsworth that as he bombed over a 45-metre drop goal to send the game to golden point extra time (that’s the rugby league equivalent of Golden Goal in soccer).

The Sharks would go on to lose the game during golden point extra time but don’t let that take away from Holdsworth’s superb piece of skill and extraordinary composure to nail the long range drop goal.

Racing Metro’s South African fly-half Johan Goosen recently nailed a monster drop goal from near halfway against Montpellier and after seeing this effort, JOE can only assume that there is something in the water in the southern hemisphere that creates these massive drop goals.
