Video: Chris Paul received a pretty decent kick to the head in the NBA

Tony Allen’s very, very high foot earned him a one-game ban.

Tony Allen’s very, very high foot earned him a one-game ban.

In a league where fouls are so important, one of the most persistent floppers (divers to you and me) is Clippers point guard Chris Paul. CP3 is prone to going down in dramatic fashion after the merest of touches (think Ashley Young) and as he is one of the best players in the game (not so much like Ashley Young) it is more than a bit frustrating.

But last night he was fully within his rights to act up. Driving to the basket against the Memphis Grizzlies, Tony Allen was beaten by Paul and decided to stick out a leg to stop him. Unfortunately for Paul, that leg was about six feet off the ground and caught him in the face.

Paul went down in pretty dramatic fashion anyway, and Allen apologised for the blow after the game.

Still, the NBA hit him with a one-game ban for the foul, to which Allen simply replied on Twitter…
