The old saying that “goals win games” was never more applicable than in the Mayo Senior Football Championship semi-final between Ballintubber and Knockmore on Sunday.
Ballintubber won the game racking up a massive 9-11 with Knockmore registering 2-12. If you don’t believe us, here’s the proof…

The scoreline was remarkable but what was even more remarkable was that four brothers all scored goals for Ballintubber.
Mayo senior star Cillian O’Connor and his three brothers Ruaidhri, Padraig and Diarmuid all hit the back of the net. Cillian scored a hat-trick while the rest of the lads scored one each.
