Video: Conor McGregor’s post-fight interview was nearly as good as his KO yesterday

“I kind of feel like Stone Cold Steve Austin in there.” Conor McGregor’s KO of Marcus Brimage on his UFC debut was stunning and his post-fight interview was pretty impressive too.

The Dublin fighter announced himself as the new star of the UFC with a 67-second knock-out of Marcus Brimage in Stockholm yesterday, but while the manner of his victory might have been a surprise to some, it was no surprise to McGregor himself, who spoke very clearly of his supreme confidence in his own ability in his interview afterwards.

McGregor elaborated on how he felt that Brimage was too affected by the emotion of the occasion in an interview that managed to be revealing, compelling and downright hilarious at the same time as reporters at the event clamoured to get a word from a man who looks like he has a huge future in the UFC.

Amongst the many brilliant lines in Conor’s interview, the best one was arguably when he spoke about stealing the show when he said: “I feel like I’m stealing the show, I feel like I’ve stole the show, I’ve stole everything. I’m going to steal all the money from the UFC and hightail it back to Ireland. F**k the recession!”

As comfortable in front of a camera as he is in the octagon, the four minutes it takes to watch the interview above will be four minutes well spent.

It wasn’t just the folks at home who were impressed by McGregor’s display either, eh Dana White?

If his first experience is anything to go by, Conor McGregor is going to make a pretty significant mark on the UFC and we’re looking forward to going along for the ride.

Thanks to Brian Gordon and Gary Grimes for giving us the heads up on this one
