Edwin Hurtado didn’t quite manage to do a Luis Suarez, but it wasn’t a bad attempt.
Of all the injuries you might pick up on a football pitch, a bite on the nose isn’t one you would expect. But poor old Andrés Franzoia was very lucky to escape being hurt too badly in this mad incident with a guy called Edwin Hurtado.
Hurtado’s team, Deportivo Quevedo, were defending a set-piece when a bit of jostling in the box resulted in a free out against Franzoia’s team, SC Barcelona.
Hurtado was none too happy with Franzoia apparently felling one of his team-mates so as the pair went face-to-face Hurtado bizarrely tried to bite Franzoia on the nose.
We’re not sure if he made much contact but Franzoia went down like he’d been shot and the intent, it seems, was there.
Hurtado escaped with just a yellow card and, we assume, no long ban.
