Cricket can be a dangerous game… for low flying birds.

During Sussex’s Twenty20 clash with Middlesex on Friday, Middlesex’s batsman Ryan Higgins was denied a six in one of the most unfortunate ways imaginable. After taking a massive swipe following a fast-ball from Sussex’s bowler Will Beer, Higgins sent the ball high in the air. However, it soon came crashing back to earth after it smashed into one very unlucky seagull. Middlesex managed to snatch two runs from the play as the seagull hobbled away from the crease, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory as Sussex won the match with six wickets to spare.
