Real Madrid’s main man kicked off his campaign with a hat-trick, and he capped it off with a moment of pure magic.
It wasn’t quite a turkey shoot in Istanbul tonight but it wasn’t far off either. Real Madrid arrived in town and steamrolled Galatasaray 6-1, and they even started the world’s most expensive player, Gareth Bale, on the bench.
But it was a previous record breaker, Cristiano Ronaldo, who grabbed the headlines. Again. The Portuguese star nabbed a second-half hat-trick, of which the third was a perfect distillation of all that makes him great.
With incredible speed, skill, strength and power he bamboozles the ragged Gala defence before ripping the ball to the net with astonishing force.
That’s 207 goal in 204 games for real Madrid now. Ridiculous.
Hat-tip to James Dart for the video.
