Banner royalty discuss how Clare won it all in a great out-take from an upcoming RTE hurling documentary.
It was a hell of a year in hurling, culminating in Clare winning the Liam MacCarthy, after a replay, against Cork.
RTE plan to celebrate that with a special show, called The Magic of Hurling, set to be broadcast on December 27 on RTE 2 at 7.50.
Today they released an appetiser for the show, and a sizeable one at that. RTE claim this is an out-take, so if they have cut this out, the rest must be pretty good.
Featuring three of the most famous Clare hurling figures in former boss Ger Loughnane, former captain now Dublin boss Anthony Daly and current manager Davy Fitzgerald, the round table covers Clare’s tactics in 2013.
A massive talking point at the start of the year, the three lads discuss the evolution of Clare’s play, and the League relegation play-off, between Cork and Clare, comes in for particular attention.
Any show about the hurling year just gone should be great, and if this is the type of stuff they are leaving on the cutting room floor, then it should be very good indeed.
