Video: Did anyone think the Bradford team doctor looked like the teacher from D’Unbelievables?

“You got a right good belt in the nose there Alex.”

Bradford and Reading played out a bruising FA Cup encounter at Valley Parade this afternoon and nobody will be feeling the effects afterwards more than Reading skipper Alex Pearce.

The Republic of Ireland international bust his nose open when contesting a header late on, leading to a lengthy stoppage as Reading, who had used all three subs, tried to patch him up to get him back on the field for the closing minutes.

The Bradford team doctor – at least we think he was the team doctor – was happy to provide assistance to the Reading physio and we can’t help but think that we’ve seen somewhere before.

Have a look for yourself and see if he rings any bells?

Does he remind anyone else of, for example, this character from a famous D’Unbelievables sketch?

Asked by the Bradford doctor if he wanted a bandage for his injured nose, Pearce is reported to have replied: “I won’t says I, I’m fine.”

Hat-tip to Shane Ansboro for his help with this one
