Video: Did ESPN UK’s subtitles call their commentators ‘paedophiles’ last night?

The always tricky world of live subtitling threw up a hell of a mistake last night on ESPN.

The always tricky world of live subtitling threw up a hell of a mistake last night on ESPN.

The Gold Cup came to a conclusion last night, with the USA beating Panama 1-0 in the final via a Brek Shea tap-in (above).

The game was, of course, covered on ESPN UK but the folks tasked with doing the live subtitling produced a bizarre error. As the commentary team wrapped up their coverage of the game, the people frantically typing out the words appeared to  accidentally call the presenters ‘paedophiles’.

We have to assume this is an auto-correct balls up of epic proportions, and unfortunately it was caught on video.

Hat-tip to 101GreatGoals for the video
