GAA clubs all around the country are putting on novel fundraising events these days in an effort to raise much-needed funds from the local community.
White collar boxing events have proved particularly popular, but Middletown GAA Club in Armagh have taken that concept and brought it to a whole new level, organising a full-scale Wrestlemania event that will take place in the Armagh City Hotel next month.

Middletown clubman Niall Geoghegan told JOE that players from the club and local characters from the town, with names like Kid Gorgeous, The Three Amigos and Taz, are flat out training coming up to the event, with nothing, not even hairstyles, being left to chance.

Dubbed the biggest event in Wrestlemania history (yes, even bigger than Wrestlemania VI, which featured an epic battle between Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior), this kind of novel event deserves a big audience and is sure to be a roaring success.
GAA clubs around the country, the bar has been raised.
