The 2013 football championship may have been a bit of a slow burner before finishing on a high but there were some fantastic individual scores registered throughout. Here’s the GAA’s pick of the bunch.

Given the seasons enjoyed by Mayo, Monaghan and Tyrone, you would expect the likes of Andy Moran, Sean Cavanagh and Kieran Hughes to feature here, but Joe McMahon and Ger Brennan put their hands up for the defenders’ union with spectacular efforts against Monaghan and Mayo respectively.

Monaghan feature quite prominently, in fact, as the points scored by both Cavanagh and McMahon come from Tyrone’s controversial victory over the Farney men in the All-Ireland quarter-final, while Kieran Hughes, who was sent off in that game, gets deserved recognition for a monster score against Donegal in the Ulster Final.

All five are excellent efforts and certainly worthy of inclusion here, but are there any scores you can remember that should also have been in the mix? Feel free to let us know in the comment box below.
