Video: Finally we can bask in the full on craziness of Birmingham’s win over Yeovil this week

Very controversial late goal, followed by a cracker, followed by an unopposed goal, followed by a mad penalty shoot out, this was the oddest game of the new season so far.

Very controversial late goal, followed by a cracker, followed by an unopposed goal, followed by a mad penalty shoot out, this was the oddest game of the new season so far.

Birmingham’s defeat of Yeovil on penalties in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night was the most extraordinary match of the new season and it is hard to imagine any game will beat it.

In the below video, you can watch the first three goals, that left the score at 2-1 to Birmingham if you fancy but the madness kicks off at 2.45 when Yeovil don’t give the ball back after an injury and score in the final seconds of normal time to send the game to extra time.

Birmingham, and Irish keeper Colin Doyle especially, go nuts and Yeovil don’t let Birmingham score as some might expect, meaning an extra 30.

In the added period, Yeovil’s Luke Ayling scored an absolute stunner (4.40) to take the lead but from the restart, Yeovil do let Birmingham equalize unopposed.

The game ultimately goes to penalties, which start at 5.37, but if you want to see the suitably odd end to this tie, then go to 7.55 to see just how Tom Adeyemi winning spot kick crossed the line.

A suitably weird end to a very strange game.
