Video: Five very deliberate own goals scored in one match in Indonesia by two teams afraid to win

We have heard of a fear of failure but these guys have a fear of success…

During this bizarre game in the Indonesian soccer league, five own goals were scored as both teams did their level best to lose the game.

PSS Sleman picked up a 3-2 win over PSIS Semarang in what was one of the most ridiculous games that we have ever seen. Both teams were aiming to lose the match to avoid having to play against Pusamania Borneo FC; a team known to be backed by the Indonesian mafia.

To deliberately misquote some of the greatest gangster movies of all time, “if they won, they would be sleeping with the fishes”… possibly.

But back to the game, five goals were scored in the match and in this video you can clearly see the ‘keepers stepping out of the way of the ball to allow an own goal to go in.

In the second video below, it’s obvious that neither side have any intention of scoring and are content to pass the ball among their back four without any fear of the opposition even making an effort to win it.

We have heard of a fear of failure but these guys have a fear of success… or impending violence committed against them, whichever way you want to look at it.
