VIDEO: Fluminese fans join Irish guys in brilliant version of Gary Breen chant outside the Maracana Stadium

Amazing

Conor Heneghan

The whole world, it seems, dreams of a team of Gary Breens.

Gary Breen may not be the most talented player ever to pull on an Irish jersey, but he always gave it his all for the Boys in Green and his cult status amongst Irish football fans is well deserved.

A song sung in his honour, ‘We all dream of a team of Gary Breens’, is one of the most famous numbers in the repertoire of Irish football supporters and it was given an airing outside the most iconic stadium of them all in Brazil of late.

JOE reader Ferdinand Coyne and a few of his mates travelled to the Maracana to catch Fluminese’s 1-1 draw with Internacional yesterday and while having the craic with some Fluminese supporters before the game, they let them in on one of the greatest songs in Irish football history.

The Fluminese fans at the Maracana really know their football! We joined them in a special chant for Ireland’s greatest ever player☘

The Fluminese fans not only joined in, but took it in a whole new direction and significantly raised the volume towards the end in what was a fitting tribute to an Irish hero.

Those Brazilians know a good player when they see one alright.

Cheers to Ferdinand Coyne for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or find us on Facebook or Twitter.
