Video: Fox Sports Australia pay tribute to ‘world class player and bloke’ BOD with his top five moments

And they even managed to get a video message from the man himself, even if he was just a little bit tired and emotional from the weekend.

Rugby folk in the southern hemisphere often don’t pay a whole lot of attention to what happens on this side of the world, but they know a legend when they see one and to mark his retirement from international rugby, the folks at Rugby HQ Down Under decided to pay tribute to ‘world class player and bloke’ Brian O’Driscoll in their top five this week.

Friend of the site Sean Maloney had told us that their tribute to BOD would be a belter and he certainly wasn’t wrong, with the top five recounting some of his finest moments in Ireland green, Leinster blue and, of course Lions red when he announced himself on the world stage with THAT try against the Wallabies in 2001.

Thanks to another legendary centre, Tim Horan, the Rugby HQ gang managed to grab a video message from the man himself and though he was a little bit the worse for wear after the weekend’s festivities, he still managed to reference a number of Aussie stereotypes in a gracious thank-you for what is a fitting tribute to the great man.

Legend.

Hat-tip to Sean Maloney for sending this one our way
