After Bismarck du Plessis was harshly sent off after two yellow cards last week, we had a feeling the boys in Fox Sports Australia would put together a top five.
Sure enough, Sean Maloney has compiled what he feels are five of the craziest cards ever dished out after the South African hooker had the temerity to tackle, legally, the one and only Dan Carter. Romain Poite was quick to reach for the card, but he isn’t the first to reach for a highly questionable card.
Here are another few baffling decisions, with Rob Kearney featuring after being on the receiving end of a tackle from Wycliff Palu in Croke Park a few years back. The Aussies were naturally, and rightfully, aggrieved at that decision, but it isn’t the worst on the list. Not by a long shot.
