Monfils’ French teammates had already beaten the Czech Republic to book their place in the Davis Cup final against Switzerland, thus making his match against Lukas Rosol a dead rubber.
Since the Frenchman treats every game like an exhibition match we we’re certain that there would be some entertainment on offer now that any pressure was off his shoulders.
