What a pro.

New Zealand’s North Island was unfortunate enough to be hit with a 6.2 magnitude earthquake earlier today and thankfully there are no reports of casualties or serious injuries, although hundreds of homes suffered power outages in the region just north of Wellington.

Given what’s happened in the country in the past, you wouldn’t have blamed anyone who ran for safety as soon as they began to feel the ground shake, but the commentator at the Manawatu Greyhound track wasn’t going to leave until he got the job done, continuing to commentate on a race despite fairly obvious signs of an earthquake that drastically affected his ability to film the race.

That didn’t overly concern the commentator, who meticulously kept his focus until the end and illustrated a far better way to react to an earthquake than his fellow sports commentators in the US a couple of years back.
