Video: Here's Simon Zebo ringing Rob Penney to ask for Munster captaincy on Lions tour
Thanks to Sky’s upcoming Lions doc ‘Raw’ the most famous fine of the 2013 tour is now available to watch.
As always, there should be a compelling British and Irish Lions tour documentary hitting our screens soon. ‘Raw’ will be broadcast on October 10 on Sky and it has a lot to live up to with predecessors like 1997’s ‘Living with Lions’ a real classic.
Based on the brief clip that has appeared online overnight, it should be a good watch though, and we now finally have a look inside the infamous fines system employed on virtually every Lions tour.
The fine we heard most about concerned Simon Zebo who was punished for fooling Conor Murray into kicking the ball out early in the game against the Melbourne Rebels.
The fines committee rolled the dice and the Munster wing was forced to call his coach Rob Penney and make a case for being Munster captain next year as punishment.
Now we have video of that scene and the childish delight in the whole squad at Zebo's squirming is a joy to behold. We only get to see the initial phone call here, but we reckon we will be tuning in to see the full gory conversation when the doc is aired.
