Conor Lehane scored 2-10 for the newly crowned county champions Midleton yesterday, 2-8 from play, in what was one of the hurling performances of the year.
Midleton claimed their first senior title since 1991 as they defeated reigning champions Sarsfields 2-15 to 2-13 and Lehane turned in a virtuoso display, scoring all but five points of their overall tally.
The classy centre-forward played a key part in Cork’s march to the All-Ireland Final and gave an exhibition of scoring yesterday and with the sides level at 2-13 a piece entering the closing stages, popped up along with Rebel team-mate Luke O’Farrell to get the vital scores for victory.
The clip shows 2-5 of his tally, with a wide range of scores and no little skill demonstrated by the forward.
