Pre-match meals are very important these days, no matter what the sport. Here's what some of the biggest names in sport have before competing and there is some very odd stuff in here.
Back in the day steak and chips, and maybe a cigarette or two, was the pre-match meal of choice for many sports men and women. But the advance of sports science has turned game day nutrition into an art form.
The folks at Buzzfeed have put together a very cool video to show you just what some of today's big stars have before games. The likes of LeBron James, Serena Williams, Peyton Manning and Landon Donovan are included here and while there is a quite a bit of 'pasta and chicken', there are more than a few surprises, especially when it comes to Serena Williams.
The video also includes a few old names, to contrast their diets with today's stars. What the likes of Charles Barkley and baseball's Wade Boggs (best known for his appearance in Simpsons classic 'Homer At The Bat' over here) had wouldn't fly now.
