Thanks to Irish man in New Zealand James Keegan for sending this our way. James is the fitness coach for Team Wellington, a side in New Zealand’s semi-pro soccer league and in a game against Hawkes Bay United recently, James witnessed a serious clanger being dropped by the opposition keeper.
A fairly routine ball is expertly caught by the stopper but when he attempts to restart play quickly with a throw out to his nearest defender, the pair make a complete bags of it, presenting Team Wellington striker Charlie Henry (no relation to Thierry) with a golden chance of a goal, which he takes in style.
Wellington went on to win the game 6-1 and they currently are just one win away from making it to the League final. Thanks to the newly discovered Irish connection, we’re backing them all the way.
