Video: If the trailer is anything to go by, Joe Brolly’s ‘Perfect Match’ documentary is a must-see

Most people know Joe Brolly as the out-spoken pundit who is never afraid to speak his mind, but this documentary will focus on his fantastic work away from sport.

JOE

Most people know Joe Brolly as the out-spoken pundit who is never afraid to speak his mind, but this documentary will focus on his fantastic work away from sport.

Twelve month ago the Derry man donated a kidney to a Shane Finnegan, a Belfast based father of three, and the GAA analyst has carried out great work to raise the awareness of organ donation in this country.

Production team Loosehorse chartered the progress of Brolly, and the organ recipient Finnegan, on dealing with everyday life with this serious operation effecting many others besides the two men involved.

And of course it wouldn’t be Joe Brolly without a bit of humour, with his pals Michael Lyster, Des Cahill and Colm O’Rourke chipping in with a few comments for the barrister.

Say what you like about Brolly, and he has put out some Mayo, Tyrone, Kerry…in fact all 32 counties’ supporters noses out of joint on occasions, it was a fantastic gesture and his media profile has helped the organ donation cause no end.

We’re looking forward to the airing of the documentary at 9.35pm next Monday.
