As well as entering the record books for the largest scrum ever formed, the lads from Willow Park and Blackrock College managed to raise €3,000 for the Irish Youth Foundation’s Children’s Hour with this very large set-piece.

The attempt was made in Blackrock College’s grounds yesterday afternoon and a few of the biggest names in Irish rugby made sure to show up for the event.

On hand to oversee the massive scrum was none other than the referee Alain Rolland and he was aided by another rugby legend, George Hook.

Leinster players Ian Madigan, Luke Fitzgerald, Brendan Macken and Jordi Murphy were also on hand to oversee proceedings along with Youth Foundation patron Eoin Reddan.

Fair play to the lads and if you find out more about the Youth Foundation’s Children’s Hour over on www.childrenshour.ie.
