Video: Is there a bigger Mayo fan abroad than Home and Away’s John Palmer?

You’ve already seen him with a Mayo flag, now Home and Away’s John Palmer has gone on record to declare his support for Mayo’s bid for All-Ireland glory this year.

Mayo fans have never been shy of declaring support for the county footballers whenever they get within a sniff of Croke Park but this year they’ve taken it up a notch.

There have been public messages of support for James Horan’s men at the Tour de France, at a Bruce Springsteen concert, from a professional surfer at Keel Beach in Achill and we’re not sure if there’s any member of the Home and Away cast who have yet to be pictured with a Mayo flag alongside the many representatives from the Yew County living Down Under at the moment.

John Palmer (Shane Withington) is one of the many residents of Summer Bay who have already been sighted wearing the green and red but he’s gone one better in recent days and recorded a video message that leaves little doubt as to where his allegiances lie in the race for Sam this year.

When we think about it, Alf Stewart is probably the biggest fish we can think of that has yet to pledge his allegiance to Mayo’s All-Ireland bid this year, but if approached he’d probably tell the flamin’ galahs to rack off away from the Diner and off to Yabbie Creek or something like that.
