Few things are more heartening to see than a pro golfer screwing up. Shanks, shots from the bunker that hit the lip, chip shots that roll back to their feet and missed putts from a yard all make us realise that they are human and that our regular golfing gaffes are not so bad after all. But this bit of play by reigning USPGA champ Jason Dufner is so bad, even we feel bad for him. The world ranked No 15 player was playing in the Franklin Templeton Shootout, an end-of-PGA-Tour year event that is played in a team format. Dufner was paired with Dustin Johnson and on the ninth hole, Dufner made the sort of mistake you shouldn’t see in crazy golf, never mind the PGA. It makes Chad Campbell laugh at least.
